Volunteer Training: Work With Grieving Children

July 23 - August 14

You can help children overcome grief. Become a Buddy’s Place volunteer.

Buddy’s Place is Pillars Community Health’s grief support program for children ages 4-18 and their families. Buddy’s Place volunteers are trained to help grieving families who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives, to work through their grief. Volunteer roles include Greeter and Group Facilitator.

Our upcoming training will be held on the following dates (attendance at all sessions required to complete training):

  • Monday, July 23: 5 pm-9:30 pm
  • Monday, July 30: 5 pm-9:30 pm
  • Monday, August 6: 5 pm-9:30 pm
  • Monday, August 13: 5 pm-8:30 pm (during the program’s Monthly Gathering)
  • Tuesday, August 14: 5 pm-9:30 pm

Location: Western Springs

Cost: FREE with a one-year volunteer commitment.
(Note: CE/CEUs are available and are also free with a one-year volunteer commitment, or contact Michelle Halm for information on obtaining CEUs without the commitment. Current Pillars Community Health staff are welcome to complete the training without the volunteer commitment.)
