Agency Hosts Free Vision Clinic
In January, Pillars Community Health was pleased to host a special free Vision Clinic for 120 of our Medical Clinic patients as well as families from our Head Start program. As part of our efforts to provide access to care for those who need it, when they need it, this is the second year we have hosted the clinic in downtown La Grange. In total, we were able to provide vision care for 73 adult patients (including 37 with diabetes) and 47 pediatric patients. In all, 89 people will receive glasses (including 22 pediatric patients).
Thank you to the partners who helped us make this event possible. This includes provides from the Illinois College of Optometry and the Midwestern University College of Optometry as well as Dr. Nina George from University Retina and Macula Associates. Thank you also to Luneau Technology for donating screening equipment, Essilor Vision Foundation for donating the glasses, and Premier Ophthalmic for donating the exam chairs.
